The Shearl Wedding

Jenna and I first met when I was photographing her bridesmaid Courtney’s wedding (go check out the Hancock wedding while you’re here!) We met for a couple of brews and immediately hit it off—I knew then that this wedding was going to be a party for the ages.

First off, Ironclad Brewery is the coolest: the twinkling lights strung through the rafters, the humongous ceilings, and the exposed brick made it a downtown dream. The florals from Designs by Dillon were, of course, perfection. The people, though, were the best part—Jenna, Michael and their friends and family were some of the most kind, fun people you will ever meet.

Honestly, I don’t think I could possibly express how in love with this wedding I was. I am just so excited for Jenna + Michael to spend the rest of their lives together!

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Shearl!

The Ward Wedding

Susannah + Stephen are married, and oh man were all the sweat and tears getting here worth it! Belle Vue was such a beautiful ceremony space, The Terraces at Sir Tyler provided the perfect last-second reception venue, and every. little. piece. of the wedding was stunning.

With only 50 guests, the Wards had their closest family and friends with them, and the love was felt in every part of the wedding. From getting ready to the last dance at the reception, the emotion was overwhelming.

I’m so excited to share these photos with you, and I can’t wait to finish this entire gallery! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Ward!

The Pindt Wedding

I love everything about downtown Wilmington weddings—the river views, the cool air and especially the people. June 30, one of the coolest couples around tied the knot at Bakery 105 and it was nothing short of amazing!

Arianna and Paul did everything their way and partied all night long. Their ceremony was a tear-jerker, their reception a blast (those glowsticks thoughhh!) The florals were absolutely stunning (I was swooning over the boho vibes woven throughout all the decor). Instead of cake…DONUTS!

Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your day, y’all. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Pindt!

The Yowler-Yang Wedding

It is actually IMPOSSIBLE to not be in a good mood when you're at Airlie Gardens in Wilmington. The smell, the sight of all the incredible greenery and florals, the sounds of nature all around you; on March 28, it was only outdone by Joanna and Dan's wedding ceremony.

The entire day was beautiful, the sun and warmth arriving on a Thursday immediately following weeks of dreary weather! The Lord of the Rings music and details were beautiful—the little candles, earrings and even the vows were inspired by the trilogy.

There wasn't a dry eye throughout the entire evening, and every person at the small celebration meant an incredible amount to Joanna and Dan. Capturing this kind of once-in-a-lifetime love was wonderful, and I know these two will live the best life together.

Congratulations, y'all!

The Lucroy Wedding

Sunday marked not only the start of a brand-new year, but the start of a lifetime of love for Annie and David!

It was 20 degrees outside (it felt even colder with that river wind!), but these two stuck it out all night. Some highlights of the wedding were the amazing personal details, a sparkler exit to remember, and of course…Heckler, Annie and David's dog, starring as a groomsman!

This wedding was amazing, and the perfect way to end 2017. Happy New Year, everyone…cheers!

Lucie + Jon

I seriously LOVE exploring new places, especially with a couple as fun and adventurous as Lucie + Jon!! We hiked all over Fort Fisher; climbing into little dens, crawling over rocks, and getting slammed by waves.

These two were absolutely unphased walking through the wilderness in their bare feet, jumping right into whatever idea popped into my head.

Spending the evening with this couple was a blast. From start to finish, Lucie + Jon were laughing and you could see their love so so clearly. Thanks so much for an awesome session, you two—and congrats on your engagement!!

The Vaynter Wedding | Los Angeles

I may be a Texas girl…but a couple weeks ago I think California stole my heart.

July 1, I had the amazing opportunity to join Dan + Alisa for their huge, gorgeous Los Angeles wedding! Two families of two religions came together to celebrate, and the result was two ceremonies so that all of their traditions could be honored!

Between the Catholic and Jewish ceremonies, the newlyweds and I broke off for an intimate couples session in some of the most stunning gardens I've ever seen. Dan + Alisa's love for each other shines so, SO bright and getting to capture it was a dream.

Every part of this day was so unique, and didn't end at the ceremonies…the reception had nonstop food, drink (and especially partying). The band was a blast, the MC was bombastic, and the dance floor wasn't empty for a second.

I could talk about this wedding for hours (I'm pretty sure I did when describing it to my mom) because of how incredible it was! I have been working hard on these previews, and I'm so pumped to be able to share them now—congrats, Dan + Alisa!!

Marta + Adam

From the revolutionary-era mansions to the Cape Fear boardwalks, downtown Wilmington has my heart. Exploring this beautiful place is always better when I get to hang with even more beautiful couples like Marta and Adam!

These two came all the way from Charlotte for our engagement session, and they were so fun! They laughed, joked, and absolutely could not take their eyes (and hands 😉) off each other the entire time. Thanks so much for hanging out with me, y'all—I can't wait to see your incredible wedding!

Arianna + Paul

It's been a whirlwind of a month, and I love saying that I've been busier than ever (really though, it doesn't feel like work when you love what you do so much!)

Arianna and Paul are one of my gorgeous 2018 couples, and our early morning was spent at The Arboretum in Wilmington. I'd never shot there before, and I have to say I am OBSESSED!

These two are seriously so much fun, and their laid-back style made this session such a breeze. It was so easy to capture their smiles because they were laughing and having fun the entire time!

I can not waaaaait for your wedding, y'all! Why can't next summer be here already?!

The Johnson Wedding

May 27, 2017 was an incredible day to have a wedding! Melissa and Dustin became man and wife, and two families came together as one! Downtown Wilmington (as you probably all know) is absolutely one of my favorite places, and shooting my first wedding there was a dream come true. The venue was perfect (that floral chandelier is to die for!), the food was perfect (pizza, y'all), and of course, the company was perfect.

When the light was juuuust right, we explored the pier and the sweetest little part of downtown Wilmo. The Johnsons are from Raleigh, so they've never experienced a walk by Kilwin's, where the fudgey, decadent smell literally brings people in the door! It was just one of the sweet (no pun intended) moments we experienced...a Sit n' Sip cart also cheered them on as we adventured! It was such a blast!

Melissa and Dustin--I wish you the happiest future together! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson.
