Macey + Judson

Two sweet friends of mine got engaged this weekend, and I was lucky enough to be able to capture it! Bear with me here...y'all are in for a story.

I met Macey when I was 5 years old. We were on the same soccer team, the Lil' Bears, and I believe we won exactly 0 games. After that season, we never kept in touch until we met again playing tennis at our high school! Macey and I both decided to attend Texas A&M for college, and we were roommates our first two years there.

Since we were roommates, and brand-new to the beautiful land of College Station, we rode the bus to class together. Five years ago, I was sitting in between Macey and some random kid with a haircut indicative of a Corps of Cadets fish. He recognized her from class, was very smooth, and asked about their math homework. They got to talking...and that's how Macey and Judson became Macey and Judson.

When he proposed, Judson set up a small table complete with beautiful flowers (Macey's a florist, so it's only fitting!), a couple photos of the two of them, and a bible embossed with Macey's new name. After arriving, they sat down and prayed together...then, Jud popped the question!

That wasn't the end of the surprises; a couple hours later, all their friends and family gathered in Downtown Bryan and threw a beautiful party for them! Flowers, custom cookies (that were way, WAY too delicious), Nothing Bundt Cakes (owned by Macey's cousins in College Station), and a photo backdrop truly made the event complete.

I simply love these two, and watching them grow together in their faith, and in life, has been so incredible. I can not wait to see you two become man and wife. Here's to five years, and so so many more in the future. Congratulations, y'all!

Hannah

Since leaving North Carolina, my life has been a bit of a whirlwind--wrangling two puppies while driving all over the country is harder than it sounds! I finally got the chance to work for a bit (my version of "me time") and shoot this AMAZING girl's senior photos!

I have known Hannah for over 10 years. Our families have been close since I was in middle school, and I've gotten the opportunity to watch her grow and blossom into a beautiful young woman. Not to mention she's wicked smart and SO talented at playing tennis!

From the start, Hannah was a natural. She was so comfortable in front of the camera and fully cooperated with my crazy posing requests! It is going to be so fun editing the rest of these photos--I seriously can't wait to deliver this gallery.

Congratulations, Hannah! You're going to have a BLAST at college next year.

Atlas's 1st Birthday

Y'all want to see the cutest thing ever? Take a peek into this first birthday party for Atlas...a German shepherd/lab mix pup! His momma made sure this party was complete with a dog-friendly cake, cupcakes and most importantly...PARTY HATS ON DOGS. I was there to capture everything and it was SO ADORABLE.

We started off with some solo shots of Atlas, and it wasn't long before he and his friends started getting restless...all they wanted was to get in on that cake action! Finally, we gave in to those adorable faces. They went nuts on those cupcakes (I'll have to get that recipe for MY dog's first birthday!)

The cake wasn't the end of the party, though...the grand finale was a kiddie pool filled with over 100 tennis balls (one thing all of Atlas's family and friends knows is that he LOVES tennis balls!) He absolutely loved it and it was the perfect way to end the evening.

John + Lucy: 60 Years of Love

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to journey up to Howards Grove, Wisconsin and shoot John and Lucy's 60th anniversary celebration.

This beautiful couple are massive Packers fans (they had season tickets for years!), have attended the same church since they were young, and as of Sunday, have been married for 60 YEARS!

I spent a few days exploring the Green Bay area, and although I'm a Cowboys fan I was somehow able to enjoy the atmosphere! ;) But really, I loved getting to know the area and this wonderful family better over the course of the weekend.

The afternoon was kicked off by setting up the room; Lucy still has her wedding dress and hung it up by the display table where it was truly the biggest talking point. Carnations and photos of the happy couple adorned the room, and the multitudes of guests that arrived FAWNED over the 15 different pies laid out as refreshments (did y'all know that Wisconsinites put cheddar cheese on their apple pie? It truly is dairy country)!

Before guests arrived, however, John, Lucy and I snuck away to get in a private portrait session. They laughed, kissed, held each other up, and displayed seriously insane amounts of love (and how cute is that picture of them on their wedding day?) Thank you so much, y'all, for letting me be a part of your special day. Happy anniversary, you two!
